Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy (ABA Therapy)
Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy (ABA Therapy) is a structured teaching approach that utilizes discrete trial training, breaking down tasks into manageable and measurable portions. Advancement from one task to the next is easily determined by the behavioral therapist who seeks to reinforce positive behaviors in both planned and natural environments.
The ultimate goal is to recreate interactions that occur throughout the child’s day and then reinforce positive behaviors within those simulated interactions. Current research by the National Institute of Health indicates that Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy can improve communication, social interactions, self-control and scholastic abilities.
