Melissa McDermott

Melissa McDermott is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Galvin Therapy Center. She has been a practicing SLP since 2010. Melissa earned her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Bowling Green State University and her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toledo. Melissa worked in a pediatric clinic in Austin, Texas upon completion of graduate school, then moved to Denver and worked in an elementary school. She joined the Galvin Therapy Center team in 2021, when she and her family returned to Cleveland to be closer to their extended family. When she is not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her son, husband, and two dogs. She enjoys running and painting, as well. Melissa has always had a passion for working with children. Her goal is to help children and families achieve their potential by helping them develop their voices to share their experiences. She lives by the words of Walt Disney: “First think. Second dream. Third believe. And finally, dare.”
