Rachel Marcum Puracchio is an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and the Volunteer Coordinator at Galvin Therapy Center. She also completed her Level II fieldwork at Galvin Therapy prior to joining the team full-time in 2016. Rachel completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences from Kent State University in 2012. She then worked at a school for children with special needs as a teaching assistant before obtaining her associate’s degree from Brown Mackie College in Akron and becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in 2016. Rachel works with clients from 0-21 addressing self-regulation, sensory processing, motor delays, autism spectrum disorders, and cognitive delays. She is certified in Interactive Metronome and Rhythmic Movement Training (Reflex Integration). Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, Doug, son Vander, daughter Nora, dog Leo, and cat, Lyra. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, exploring. and playing volleyball. Rachel enjoys helping her clients problem-solve and find strategies that work for them and enable them to function better across environments.
