What would you do even if you didnʼt get paid to do?
If I won the lottery I would still come in to work with my kiddos everyday.
What are you surprisingly good at?
Logic puzzles and Sudoku
Whatʼs the biggest proof that youʼre good at what you do?
Every child I have worked with has made huge growth in all areas of their lives. Their parents, extended family members and other therapists tell me how much the child has grown and changed. I take that personally that I have implemented the correct programs, behavior plans and trained the behavior technicians exceptionally well.
How long have you been working in your field?
I have been in the education field since 2005. I have been in the autism world since 2009.
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
I love when I get to see J child do something they once could not Jnd seeing the pride in their eyes for themselves. I believe that everyone deserves kindness and love shown to them. I try to instill this belief in my son everyday.
What are you complimented on most in your work?
My flexibility and patience.
Whatʼs your biggest accomplishment professionally?
Passing the Behavior Analysis Certification Board exam.
How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personally?
Having the education background I think makes the way I use Applied Behavior Analysis different from other BCBAs. I include academics in every child’s program. I treat my son the same way I treat my clients and use ABA at home.
What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
Every child is different. I can say that everyone I have worked with has learned to use their words to communicate what they want and need instead of using aggression.
