Speech Language Therapy
What is Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology?
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat skills for the ‘how to’ of speaking, understanding what is said, using alternative methods of communication, and chewing/swallowing. SLPs have expertise in using evidence-based methods to help children develop communication, language and feeding. Based on a thorough evaluation, and in collaboration with the child and family, a speech-language pathologist at Galvin Therapy Center will develop a personalized plan to address underlying and functional deficits.
